Using ‘system proxy settings’ under XChat

It has been quite some days since I have been trying to implement an option to ‘use system proxy settings’ in XChat. It is very useful for users like me who have to switch between multiple proxies. Its different for all the hostels, different for home, for library, for computer centre, and for LUG room. I have created a list of all these in the GNOME Network proxy settings. This makes my job easier, since Firefox and Pidgin can use these settings. I decided to add this functionality to XChat. So I read Pidgin’s source code to learn how Pidgin implements it, then made a few changes to XChat. Now it works beautifully by using the GNOME settings. Here is a screenshot.
